The venue for Scotlands 1st ever oval meeting, taking place on 16-7-54.

Motherwell had 2 periods of use, the first during the sports early boom years in the 1950's before going the same way as many of those early tracks. 1954 and 1955 saw the running of 4 meetings.

However it was to return in the 1970's as an Independent (Outlaw) track running its final meeting in mid 1979 just before the stadium was demolished.

Today the track survives intact in fairly good condition (Pic below) on public land in a sea of grass.      Updated  Nov 05
